The Finnish Dynamic Positioning (DP) system and ship automation system manufacturer Navis Engineering has recently launched the Chinese version of the NavDP4000 Dynamic Positioning System graphical user interface (GUI) and Chinese voice alarms to support the growing sales requirements of Navis equipment in the Chinese market. The company believes that this move will play an important role in improving the safety of DP operations for the growing number of Chinese flagship offshore vessels.
Not long ago, Navis delivered the DP1 system to a series of self-propelled dredgers and a heavy-lift ship under the China Communications Construction Group and a series of 77-meter long anchor handling tugs built by Zhejiang Jiangan Shipyard. It is reported that Navis has a branch office in Shanghai.
