Example of the Kazambican copper-molybdenum ore dressing plant in the Republic of Armenia
1 Introduction
Kazaran is located in the Republic of Armenia. Aga Mubarak near the northern copper - molybdenum ore dressing plant. The existing ore processing capacity of the plant is 20 kt / d, the original ore grade is 1.2% Cu, 0.05% Mo, the first phase of the project was put into operation in 1952, and the concentrating plant was expanded in 1965.
2. Deposits, ores and mining
Kazallan is a fine-grained copper-molybdenum ore. The primary sulphide ore below the deposit is the upper part, the upper part is mixed with the oxidized ore.
The main metal ore minerals pyrite, chalcopyrite and molybdenite. Also a small amount of inclusions bornite, chalcocite, enargite, bismuthinite, malachite, galena, sphalerite, calcium tungsten, molybdenum ore. Non-metallic minerals are quartz , mica , chlorite, kaolin , carbonate.
In the ore selected, the molybdenum oxidation rate is 23.5%, and the molybdenum oxide ore is molybdenum-tungsten-calcium ore, iron-molybdenum and molybdenum-containing limonite. The copper oxidation rate was 5.6%.
The ore density is 2.65 g/cm 3 . The open pit mining and the stope are coarsely crushed on site, and the ore is transported to the plant with an aerial ropeway.
3. Mineral processing technology
Kazaran crushing uses four sections and one closed circuit process, using 1500×2100mm jaw crusher (coarse crushing), ¢2200mm standard cone crusher (medium crushing), ¢2200mm short-head cone crusher (breaking of section III and section IV) . Particle size composition of the crushed product: -50+20mm8.6%, -20+9mm29.9%, -9mm61.5%.
The copper-molybdenum mixed flotation adopts two stages of grinding, one rough selection, one sweep selection, three selections, two secondary sweeps, and one (one selected concentrate) regrind process, as shown in Figure 1. Grinding fineness is 75%~80%-200 mesh.

The copper-molybdenum sorting process is applied to the inhibition of copper mineral by sodium sulfide, and a sorting process of one coarse, two sweep, five selections, one fine sweep, and one section (one fine bubble) is used. In order to improve the quality of copper products, lime is added to the separated tank products to inhibit pyrite, flotation of copper minerals, and qualified copper concentrates. The copper-molybdenum sorting and copper selection process is shown in Figure 2.

4. Mineral processing agent
ИTK (O-isopropyl-N-carbamate) and ИБГK (O-isobutyl-N-carbamate) were mixed with xanthate. ИБГK has good absorption of copper, has no effect on the recovery performance of xanthate, and has weak absorption power for pyrite, which significantly improves the quality of mixed concentrate and copper concentrate. The pharmaceutical system is listed in the table below.
5, mineral processing indicators
The original ore grade is 1.2% Cu, 0.05% Mo, the treatment capacity is 20kt/d; the copper concentrate grade plan is 15.8%, the actual 14%; the copper recovery rate is 74.6%, the actual 72%; the molybdenum concentrate grade is 48.6% Mo, the molybdenum recovery rate 81.0%; the operating rate of the ball mill in the rough grinding operation is 93.4%; the electricity consumption: 16.9kW·h/t mine, the water: 3.5m 3 /t mine, the steel ball 0.92kg/t mine, the liner: 0.15kg/t mine .
