When parking, the normal oil level of the dipstick should be between the highest and lowest line. If not, add the same quality oil.

Generally no matter if it is a manual transmission or an automatic transmission, it is recommended to replace the automatic transmission oil for a maximum of 12 months or 20,000 kilometers. In addition, the operating manual of some models may read 24 months or 40,000 kilometers for replacement. However, these are only suggestions under normal circumstances. Due to special conditions in Beijing, windy and sandy weather, road congestion, and poor air quality, it is recommended that vehicles regularly check ATFs regularly.

Correct replacement of transmission oil

Generally when replacing the automatic transmission oil, the screws used to remove the oil in the bottom of the automatic transmission are used to remove the old oil and then add new oil. However, only about 30% of the new oil can be replaced with 70% of the old oil. It still remains in the gearbox. If you change the oil by dismantling the oil pan, you can achieve a 70% oil change rate, which in fact can already ensure the health of the gearbox. However, the current better oil change method is dynamic oil change, and special gearbox cleaning equipment is used. During the operation of the gearbox, the old oil is fully circulated and discharged, and then the new transmission oil is added to make the oil change. The rate is as high as 90%.

GM, Toyota, Ford and other brands of automatic transmissions have different friction coefficients, so ATF oils are different and cannot be mixed. Mixing ATF will cause damage to the friction plates of the gearbox, resulting in slippage of clutches and brakes, and severe damage to the friction plates.
