Brake system maintenance: try not to dismantle the brake system

<

Because many car owners lack understanding of the braking system, they often ignore the inspection and maintenance of the braking system during daily use, which virtually increases the safety hazard when the vehicle is traveling. Then, how to maintain and maintain the brake system. We continue to look down to know.

Although the brake system is critical to driving safety, many owners often wait until the brake system is found to be working abnormally before the brake system is overhauled. This is too late. We can only perform the necessary maintenance and maintenance on the brake system to ensure the normal operation of the brake system and ensure the safety of driving.

1, check the brake fluid inventory is sufficient

The stock of brake fluid can be checked by the owner himself. After opening the engine compartment cover, we first find the brake fluid reservoir (usually located in the upper right corner of the engine compartment). There will be two scales MAX and MIN on the tank, and the brake fluid level needs to be sufficient between the two scale lines.

If the brake fluid is in short supply, the braking force will drop easily, which will affect the safety of driving.

2, check the brake fluid content

Since the brake fluid absorbs moisture in the air, the brake fluid will increase in water content for a long time and eventually cause brake fluid to fail. Check the brake fluid content of water, the owner is more difficult to operate, it is best to go to a professional repair shop with a professional detector to check.

In order to ensure the effectiveness of the brake fluid, we must periodically replace the brake fluid that meets the standards in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's regulations.

3. Regularly check the thickness of brake pads or brake shoes

Regardless of the disc type or the drum type, both brake systems provide the final braking effect from the brake pads (disk type) or brake shoes (drum type). Therefore, we should regularly check the thickness of the brake pads or brake shoes. When we find that its thickness is close to or less than the specified minimum thickness, it should be replaced immediately. In this inspection, it is recommended that the owner send the car to a professional repair shop to be carried out by a professional maintenance staff.

While checking the brake pads, we also check the degree of wear of the brake discs or brake drums. If dents are found on the contact surface, then repairs must be made in time to ensure contact area with the brake pads or brake shoes to increase the braking force.

4, try not to disassemble the brake system

Some car owners are considering personality and like to spray brake calipers into other colors. During the spraying process, the owner may remove the components of the brake system without permission. If the installation is not in place, the brake system will easily cause problems and affect the braking ability. Therefore, we try not to dismantle the braking system without authorization. If we really need to dismantle, we should seek the assistance of professionals.
