Recently, the all-stainless-steel methanol scrubber known as the first high tower in southwest and the second-highest tower in China was successfully lifted in place at Yunnan Yunwei Group Co., Ltd.'s 500,000-ton synthetic ammonia project construction site, which opened up the development and large-scale construction of Yunnan chemical industry. A new page of equipment lifting technology.

Methanol scrubber is one of the key equipments for the 500,000 tons/year ammonia synthesis project of the landmark project of Yunnan Coal Chemicals (Qujing) Base. The project introduced the Dutch Shell Corporation's pulverized coal pressurized gasification technology and Germany's Linde Company Sub-process technology, the low-pressure synthesis technology of Danish Torsorp company and the gasification furnace technology of Spain BBE Company, and other internationally leading patented technologies and equipments have the characteristics of high technological content, advanced technology and high equipment level. The tower is 75 meters high, weighs 555 tons, and has a diameter of 4 meters. The tower was erected by the Yunnan Second Installation Engineering Company. It is a 1,250-ton double-gantry gantry crane imported from the United Kingdom. It is lifted using computer-controlled hydraulic technology.

The project construction adopts the internationally advanced EPC general contracting model, and it has absorbed the most powerful engineering company in China as the general contractor for project construction. At present, the project has entered the stage of full-scale equipment installation and is expected to be completed and put into production on August 15, 2007. Its completion and production will become the highlight of the Yunnan Coal Chemical Qujing base construction.
