NJR Introduces New 6 Flyback Boost Regulators

Nippon Wireless has expanded its product line of flyback boost regulator ICs with switching operations up to 1MHz, and has also begun sampling of six models. The six models have been improved on the basis of the previously sold NJU7600, which is the NJU7601 with the PWM/PFM control switching function added, the NJU7602 with the standby power consumption reduced to the standard 1μA, and the NJU7606/8 with the input/output cut-off switch. The NJU7610, which has enhanced over-current protection performance, constant current output and constant voltage output, is mainly used for power supplies for portable devices and LCD panels.

It is said that although other companies have introduced ICs with the above functions, NJR said, "Although the same regulator circuit is used, almost no manufacturer has introduced such a complete variety at once." Since the six varieties share the voltage regulator circuit as the IC core, the response characteristics and stability of each product to the output change are very similar. "If you are a designer who has used the NJU7600, you can use it in a short time. This new product."

The NJU7608 has the same function as the NJU7606, but since the former uses a small FFP package, the price is slightly higher. The NJU7601 performs PWM control when the load increases, and switches to PFM control when the load is reduced and the pulse duty factor (Pulse Duty Factor) is reduced to 25%. The NJU7610, which enhances the over-current protection performance, monitors the presence or absence of overcurrent during each switching cycle. When an overcurrent is detected, the output of the pulse is turned off, and if there is no overcurrent, the output of the pulse is automatically turned on again.

Although, they exhibit similar properties, slight differences do remain. PA6 has a slightly lower temperature resistance versus PA66 and is also slightly less expansive.
