The Liebherr mobile crane, operated by the heavy-duty transport contractor Prangl, installed several large stacking cranes in a new high-rise warehouse in Frastanz, Austria, on the western border of the country near the Principality of Liechtenstein. An LTM1350-6.1 with a 42-meter variable jib completed the work. Stacking cranes weighing approximately 10 tons must be accurately positioned through the openings in the top floor of the newly constructed high-rise warehouse. The Liebherr LTM1070-4.1 mobile crane was used to swing the 28-meter-long part to a vertical position, and the installation of the large mobile crane was also completed. A total of eight such stacking cranes need to be hoisted into a modern industrial building with a radius of 40 meters. To accomplish this, the LTM1350-6.1 is fitted with a 42-meter variable amplitude jib and a counterweight of 100 tons. Oliver Thum, a crane specialist at Prangl's Technical Services Department, was very pleased with the successful completion of the field work. Crane service provider Prangl is one of the largest cranes and heavy transport contractors in Austria and a long-term partner of Liebherr. It has more than 200 cranes, most of which are supplied by Liebherr. In addition to a large number of mobile cranes, the group also has about 10 MK mobile cranes and Liebherr crawler cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 750 tons. The company has an office in Austria and is headquartered in Vienna with five other branches. It also has ten subsidiaries in Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia and Slovakia.
