Bosch opens new plant in Hungary

Bosch recently announced the completion of its new factory in Miskolc, Hungary. Bosch has invested a total of 20 million euros (about 27 million US dollars) to build the factory in a year.

The plant is owned by Bosch Hungarian subsidiary Bosch Energy and body system Kft. After the plant is completed, it will mainly produce wiper systems, air conditioning components, starters and AC engines. By 2014, the number of employees in the factory will increase to 3,000.

Wolf-Henning Scheider, member of Bosch's board of directors, said that the Miskolc plant will be Bosch Europe’s largest manufacturer of automotive drives, starters and generators. The Bosch Group currently has 8,000 employees in Hungary. Bosch’s sales in the Hungarian market in 2010 reached 430 million euros (about 570 million US dollars).
